ART 272 RELIEF PRINTMAKING
SPRING 2017
This intermediate studio course covers a variety of relief printmaking techniques including letterpress, linoleum and woodcut. Projects include designing & printing letterpress business cards, broadside posters and artist's books. Students will learn how to handset movable type on a cylinder and platen press, create polymer plates using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and how to carve and print woodcuts in multiple colors. This semester, TPJ Visiting Artist Benjamin D. Rinehart will give a pressure-printing demo in February and advise students on their projects.
